This node consists of several parts. Between the frame and the lifting rod, a "dovetail" connection is used. Since this connection represents a pair of sliding guides, one of the guides is made of bearing bronze (dovetail), and the second (lifting rod) is made of aluminum and coated with hard anodizing. The use of bronze in this connection ensures durability and reliability of this node. For tension adjustment (for selecting clearances), two setting screws are provided, which are located on the cover of the sharpener body.
A toothed rack made of LS59 brass is integrated into the lifting rod, which engages with a gear made of BRAZH9 bronze. The use of these materials is due to their durability and increased resistance to wear in this connection. The axis on which the gear is mounted is made of AISI304 stainless steel, providing reliable protection against corrosion. The entire node is integrated into the frame and is well protected from dirt entering the mechanism.
For the first time in sharpening devices, we have applied a disk friction brake system. The rod is fixed so accurately that when closed, it does not shift and does not affect the setting of the sharpening angles in any way.
The entire system allows for very convenient and accurate adjustment and fixation of the lifting rod position.
A scale of angle change with a division value of 0.5 degrees is applied directly to the lifting rod, right in front of the user’s eyes. This is the most convenient location for it. For more accurate calibration, we have provided an adjustment arrow.
For ease of use, metal plates for an electronic angle meter are also installed on the sharpener body and the holder of the bars.
