I've had the S-22 for a long time, and since then, the machine has significantly improved for the better, with some changes that I had the pleasure of contributing to in close collaboration with the LXP team.
Currently, the S-22 is the most thought-out and comfortable sharpening device.
The machine's reliability commands respect, and the quality of its technical design and engineering solutions used in its manufacture are unmatched in the market of sharpening devices.
To put it simply, the machine is compact, moderately lightweight, aesthetically pleasing on the workbench, sufficiently robust to perform most sharpening tasks, and easily and quickly accommodates any knives, making the sharpening process a pleasure.
Plus, the machine has withstood over a thousand knives and still looks like new, and I think it will remain so for many, many years to come.
I consider Igor's approach to his machines to be exemplary, and those who have encountered warranty issue resolutions won't disagree with me - such service is enviable for any sharpening system manufacturer in the world.
The machine's design is not standing still, and the LXP team is constantly seeking optimization and improvements in every aspect. I'm confident that in the very near future, new accessories will cover all possible tasks for sharpening any knives, scissors, and axes.
In conclusion, I'll say this - you need to try all available machines, as it will broaden your experience and sharpening horizons, giving you the necessary baggage and understanding of nuances.
But in the end, you should choose the best. And if you have the opportunity to afford the S-22, it's definitely worth doing so.

The service and responsiveness are beyond praise, and currently, there are no alternatives in this sense. Comparing it to other market solutions is pointless (I've owned and still own many solutions).
LXP is premium in the broadest sense of the word. You can only feel it through personal contact; it's hardly possible to understand it through text or videos to make a choice. If sharpening is more than just a process for you, but a hobby, and visual/tactile sensations are important, it's worth considering.
The most important thing to remember is that quality is a product's property that satisfies the consumer's request. What are your requests, and will LXP meet them? Only you know.

I was lucky in sharpening - at the very beginning (2 years ago ;)) experienced people immediately advised the best machine and the best stones. LXP S-22 is the best,
that can happen to a Monolith sharpener - if the knife deflects,
only together with the whole machine ;), absolute precision and repeatability - it is expensive and not easy Microfeed - it really works.
and, thanks to the rigidity of the entire structure, allows you to get repeatability of the angle at the level of hundredths of degrees (!) Clamps - well thought out, for, almost, all occasions of life, it is a pleasure to work with them, to pick up the clamping of the blade - the pleasure of accuracy and ease Aesthetics - I have for a long time,
‘BMW of the brain’, with the S-22 I feel the continuation of the Ultimate Sharpening Experience. Tactile, action and visual pleasure have come together in this machine! I have had the sharpener for over half a year. I have worked with it, twisted it, evaluated it. The highest level of workmanship, assembly, thoughtfulness of design is amazing. No backlash, no need to adjust or tighten anything. Reminds me of an optical product from Carl Ceiss. Well and technical support pleases. I am in Kazakhstan, but here I have already received free updated bushings of the sliding assembly. Igor thank you very much.

for the bombastic look of the spacecraft. And then the technical details were appreciated. To me, it's not one of the best sharpening systems,
but the best. It has an amazing functionality, coupled with rather modest dimensions, which was also important for me personally.
And the cherry on the cake is the branded case, which allows you to take the device with you without unnecessary dancing with tambourines) I do not know yet - what can make me change this quality beauty for something else.

I bought this sharpening system LXP S22 from Igor sharpened on it a lot of different knives quality and work sharpening system is very satisfied with the main thing that do not get tired to sharpen for hours and work on it brings pleasure ease, I believe that this is the best sharpening system on our market and is well worth its money, who if still in doubt in the purchase of my advice take no regrets.
I will say that many years engaged in professional knife sharpening and sharpening very much worked on many sharpening systems profile K-03 pro, vector, etc. there is something to compare it is definitely the top I am not advertising this sharpening system, and share my experience of working on it, there is something to compare and there is a clear understanding and evaluation of this system, very pleased with the responsible approach to customers and responsibility for their products on the part of Igor very attentive and responsible person. I wish Igor and his team good health and prosperity.

I like the S-22 unequivocally! It's a pleasure to work on it, everything is clear, the angles are the same when turning. The microlift helps a lot. I'm waiting for a built-in angle gauge and a table for sharpening scissors. Carbon stem is certainly good, but my hand is so used to the steel one that I do not feel any discomfort! In short, the machine is a beast!!!

Before the S22, I had enough sharpening stones to compare them. Specifically, Cadets of all versions, K03, and others. In fact, there's no point in comparing them. As the creators of S22 said, it's a collective dish of various technical solutions, brought to the maximum accessible absolute in terms of manufacturing precision. Undoubtedly, the S22 is beautiful. But personally, I bought it for different reasons. Grisha Tumasov's emotions in the first review video reminded me of my childhood. That's what prompted me to make the purchase. Overall, I have no questions about the sharpener. There are nuances to certain ergonomic moments, but they're subjective. Much of what's been written above - monolithic, beauty, engineering thoughts, etc. - seems a bit trivial to me. For me (considering my experience with one of the previous sharpeners), what's more important is how responsive the guys are to us, the users of their sharpeners. That's worth a lot. Would I recommend this sharpening system? Yes. But with some reservations. If it's your last money and your budget is tight, then it's not worth it. If you're a perfectionist and will be driven mad by dust, scratches, etc., then maybe not either. The coating is durable, but it can still be damaged, unfortunately. If you see the machine as a way to "get rich quick," then it's probably not for you either. But if you're a hobbyist (even with the possibility of self-sufficiency), if you appreciate the aesthetic perception of the tool you work with, then, as they say, welcome to the family.

1. Monolith. Nothing sags, does not wobble, does not beak and does not bounce.
2. Clamps. With simple knives everything is simple, that's why they are simple and any devices can cope with them, but if the knife is clever, the time to clamp is reduced simply in times. You don't have to dance with tambourines on spring clamps, you don't have to put something underneath or somehow wise up - you just pick up the right number from the available ones and everything works quickly. It is desirable to watch Igor's video before using it, so that there will be less questions )))))
3. microfeed. It is there and it works. Sometimes it is not used, sometimes it works. In any case, having the ability to set the required angle with hundreds of centimetres is better than not having such an opportunity.
4. Appearance, including the coating. Perhaps the last point, it does not seem to affect the work, but it is pleasant to work with a tool that:
a) beautiful, b) the beauty lasts a long time. It's like a Knippex, Leatherman, Wurth or Wiha - it's kind of the same as the others, but just a little bit,
